A Marketplace for Modern Construction

The Offsite Guide is a B2B marketplace and knowledge platform dedicated to promoting Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) across the UK. Created in collaboration with its sister platform Rooms2u, the site aims to connect developers, public-sector clients, and construction professionals with suppliers and services at the forefront of offsite construction. From modular builders and volumetric specialists to providers of panellised and pod-based systems, the Offsite Guide helps users discover, compare and engage with the UK's most innovative MMC suppliers.

End-to-End Collaboration

Our team delivered the full design and development process for the site, working closely with the client from early planning through to implementation. Building on the editorial and commercial goals of the project, we focused on delivering a digital experience that was clear, modern and content-rich, while making it easy for users to search, filter and engage with listings.

We have been working with Jolora since 2020. Their work, from design to completion, has been exemplary, and we would highly recommend them to other marketplace businesses, whether large or small. They have helped us overcome some difficult obstacles with efficiency, professionalism, and excellent communication, clearly explaining their work process so that our entire team understands the way forward.

The project began with a detailed discovery and wireframing phase, identifying the user journeys for supplier discovery, content engagement, and listing submissions. We collaborated with the client extensively in Figma to refine these flows, aligning user expectations with business goals at every stage. Since the Offsite Guide was conceived not just as a directory but as an educational and promotional tool, it was essential that we gave editorial content—such as guides and case studies—equal weight alongside commercial listings.

A Design System with Clarity

Design-wise, we developed a clean and accessible visual system that communicates clarity, credibility and sustainability. Strong typography, high-contrast layouts and a structured use of colour allowed us to present technical information in a digestible and engaging format. Every page was crafted with responsiveness and accessibility in mind, ensuring the experience works seamlessly across devices and for a broad professional audience.

Functional, Filterable Directories

The supplier directory includes a broad spectrum of categories—from modular homes and panellised systems to MMC services like finance, software, training and recruitment. Rather than overwhelm users with choice, we focused on intuitive filtering, searchable metadata, and consistent card-based layouts. Each supplier profile offers key information, including systems used, case study imagery, and contact links, enabling decision-makers to shortlist providers with confidence.

A Lightweight, Editor-Friendly Platform

We built the platform using a lightweight, CMS-driven architecture that allowed the client team to manage listings, update articles, and grow the platform with minimal technical support. Blog posts, thought leadership pieces, and long-form guides are all presented in a visually engaging and easy-to-navigate format, helping establish The Offsite Guide as both a practical tool and a credible voice in the MMC space.

Complementing Rooms2u with a Unique Identity

Although designed to complement Rooms2u, which serves a B2C audience, The Offsite Guide maintains its own distinct identity. Shared visual components and structural conventions create a sense of continuity between the platforms, but the tone and purpose of each remain unique.

Building a Trusted MMC Resource

Through clear strategy, collaborative design and thoughtful development, we helped launch The Offsite Guide as a trusted digital hub for offsite construction in the UK. It brings together editorial insight and commercial connection, enabling a new generation of MMC buyers and providers to build smarter, faster, and more sustainably.
